Issues of concern for All Union members
Union Issues
1.) Erosion of the Bargaining Unit
This takes two forms:
a.) The actual duties are absorbed by management
b.) The work is contracted out (eg. Taxation ISD- DRC-BWC)
A prime example of this is the OAKS system.
2.) Union membership
We cannot as an organization continue to lose members.
Expertise, experience and activism must flourish.
3.) Contract Enforcement
Management must not be allowed to divide agencies abiding by some contract articles, ignoring others or even worse enacting policies that are in direct disregard of our Union contract language.
Our Constitution provides for the establishment of Committees whose members are appointed by the President. The President with the advice and consent of the Board of Directors appoints the Chairperson of these committees.

Governmental Affairs
Membership and Public Relations
Finance Committee
Alternative Contractual Obligations
Judicial and Internal Affairs
Women’s Action
Minority and Community Affairs
Education
Veterans Advisory
Section 3 (pg18) states: COMMITTEES SHALL PERFORM SUCH DUTIES AND ASSUME SUCH RESPONSIBILITIES AS MAY BE ASSIGNED TO IT BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS or as delegated through the State Constitution or State By- Laws of this Union.
Vote for me and as your elected Board Representative I would draw upon our Constitution and the expertise of OCSEA, Union Leadership and other Union Representatives to enact through discussions, consensus and motions the change we need to address the referenced concerns of our Union members.
